It is very nice to hear success stories about new entrepreneurships. One of my friends, interior designer Ugur Gurbuzoglu, founded Deck Products in 2007 with a team of industrial designers, interior designers, and architects.

Yesterday afternoon, I was listening my favorite radio channel, KCRW, and the conversation was about the exterior paint color for Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York which has been under a major restoration project since 2005.

Architect Tadao Ando has designed a new contemporary arts centre in Venice for luxury goods tycoon François Pinault. The project will convert the historic Punta della Dogana building into a space for part of the François Pinault collection and will open in 2009.

Today, October 1, 2007, we celebrate the “World Day of Architecture”. To all of you I wish a productive and green architecture day! We should not limit the good work for one day; it should be spread around the whole year.
