Liberty from Humanscale

featured article

Humanscale is the leading manufacturer of ergonomic products for the office. From chairs to keyboard trays to task lighting, they cover a wide range of products. Last week, they gave us a luncheon presentation which was fun, informative, and tasty!

My company purchased the Liberty chair –as shown on the photo- and I have been using the chair for almost a week. I can already tell the difference. Don’t think I am marketing for Humanscale! The truth is the chair is comfortable.

Liberty, with Form-Sensing Mesh Technology, is unlike any mesh chair you’ve seen or experienced. With its tri-panel construction, Liberty has the body-fitting contours that single-panel stretch mesh chairs simply can’t achieve. And it offers perfect lumbar support for everyone, without external devices or manual adjustments.

Do you remember “Architectural humor? posting that shows the architect’s slouch? If not, check it out here. Liberty chair or any ergonomic chair in equal quality will make a difference in your “minimum? 8 hour work day.

I agree that Humanscale makes some wonderful office products and the Freedom Chair is on the top of my list for chairs to get. I am wondering how you like your chair now that you’ve had it for about a month now. I haven’t convinced my boss that I’m worth a $1,000 office chair yet. He has agreed to get me an ergohuman chair http://www.1officefurnituremall.com/eurotech-ergohuman-chairs.htm because it is under his $700 mark. I have never had a mesh chair though and am skeptical. Any advice?

    Hi Donna,
Humanscale chair is great. It takes time to train myself to sit back, not to lean forward! Because the back support of this chair is amazing. I highly recommend it.

Convincing the boss to get an ergonomic chair is not easy, because it costs money! I know what you are going thru! Did you try to contact someone from Humanscale? They can come in, do a demonstration, and even leave a chair for you to test for a couple of weeks. That is how we did it in my office. If you are in Los Angeles area, I can contact to the Humanscale representative who helped us with the chair. She will be more than happy to help you out.

The chair your boss is planning to buy seems too robotic! I am not sure how the back works, because there are two pieces. Is it comfortable? Did you get a chance to try the chair for a couple of days?

And thank you for following up with my blog entry.

Agreed! My boss purchased three of these chairs for our office recently. I can’t tell you the difference it makes sitting in a truely ergonomic office chair. He bought them here CSN Chairs . Another great one to consider is the Herman Miller Celle or Mirra. You can get them for below $700. Good luck!
