Last week, my colleague, Larry Drasin, showed me an article in the Hospitality Design magazine about one of his designs “Shade Hotel” in Manhattan Beach, California. Shade is the first luxury boutique hotel in Manhattan Beach that is synonymous with casual California beach culture. The hotel has the residential feeling which is a very popular concept in the hospitality design nowadays. Soon enough your homes will look like hotel rooms or vice versa. “Larry Drasin (project design manager) really helped educate us on how to get the technology we wanted without compromising the structure” says the Executive Design Director, Christopher Lowell. And he continues; “Helping people achieve a sense of balance, harmony and spiritual well-being (in a hyper-tasking world of today) is the experience we want to impart to each and every guest,” says Lowell.
Shade Hotel has 38 luxury guestrooms including 5 suites.
