im doing a research paper for my history class about alcatraz and what life was like on it. i was wondering what the living style like for the prisoners? also can you give me a website that i can directly email someone that knows A LOT about alcatraz and can answer a few interview questions?

I do believe that solitary confinement was used alot. Why else would it be investigated and closed.

I would like information on a inmate there in the late 50′s and 60′s. His name is lester alvin buatte, convicted or rape and murder. I cant even seem to find anything about him. Please help or direct me to a website that can give me the information on that. Due to personal reasons, I really need to know. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to find a list that shows who worked in Alcatraz. I did some research on the Internet, but so far no luck

Did you try to contact Alcatraz directly? They might help you since your grandparents worked there.

If I find out anything, I will let you know. I am as curious as you are.

I would like to know how to find out people who worked at alcatraz during the 1930-40 under warden Johson. My grandfather work as a chef for warden Johnson. If you could gave me any infor on that I would be forever greatful. Is there a website with employee infor from the 30-40′s My grandfather name was Ray Maple his wife also work as a nurise Marie Maple any help you could gave me I would be great
