Rendering and Visualization Designer
A Rendering and Visualization Designer is a critical member of the team at Doug Aitken Workshop, responsible for bringing architectural and artistic concepts to life through high-quality photorealistic visualizations. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and communication skills to produce stunning and compelling imagery that elevates the final artwork designs. The Rendering and Visualization Designer will be responsible for creating high-quality photorealistic 3D renderings, mood boards, and collages to support design proposals. They will work closely with the design team to develop and refine visual concepts, ensuring that the final artwork designs meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetic appeal. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and producing comprehensive drawing sets, including plans, sections, elevations, and exploded axonometrics.
- Conduct visual research and create photorealistic 3D renderings, mood boards, and collages to support design proposals
- Work closely with the design team to develop and refine visual concepts, ensuring high-quality and aesthetic appeal
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and producing comprehensive drawing sets
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Highly skilled in creating 3D models and photorealistic renderings to support design proposals
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to generate high-quality visualizations under tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to produce comprehensive drawing sets, including plans, sections, elevations, and exploded axonometrics
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience in architectural rendering, visualization, or related fields
- Expertise in Rhino, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Proficiency in additional 3D software such as Cinema 4D, Maya, or ZBrush is a plus
- Strong understanding of materiality, lighting, and spatial composition
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field
